If you own a blog you need traffic and online exposure. There are a lot of ways to promote your blog in order to get traffic one of the method you can use is blog directory submission.

Blog directory submission is simply submitting your blog and its details to the top blog directories.

With the rising number of blogs in the internet, listing your blog in a blog directory can bring extra traffic. It can also give you more search engine backlinks.

There are a lot of other blog directories out there, some are free and others require payment for listing.

I’ve recently started promoting a health related blog and I submitted it to a few popular free blog directories namely:

1. Blog Catalog
2. Blog Rankings
3. BlogHub
4. Technorati
5. Blog Top List

I just successfully restored an old blog from a client which has a mysql database of about 30 mb in size. At first I was having problem importing the mysql file using Phpmyadmin because the limit for uploading/importing mysql file is only about 3mb. I googled for the right solution that will help me import large mysql file and I found “Big Dump” a very useful and easy to use script.

Here are the easy steps to restore or import your large mysql database using Big Dump:

1. Change the database configuration of the script with your database information
2. Remove the old tables on the target database if your dump doesn’t contain “DROP TABLE”
3. Create the working directory (e.g. dump) on your web server
4.  Upload bigdump.php and your dump files (.sql, .gz) via FTP to the working directory
5. Run the bigdump.php from your browser via URL for example http://www.yourdomain.com/dump/bigdump.php
6. Wait for the script to finish.
7. IMPORTANT: Remove bigdump.php and your dump files from the web server

You’re done!

My Clickbank Story

I was one of those filipinos who was lucky to get an affiliate account back in 2003 where clickbank allowed affiliate sign ups from the Philippines. I promoted clickbank a few years back and I got some decent commission by promoting digital products (ebooks).

In the past 2 years I haven’t been promoting clickbank  due to the fact that I am afraid I won’t be able to encash the check because clickbank disallowed signups from the Philippines because of high rate of credit card fraud. Earlier this year, a friend of mine who also got his clickbank affiliate account in 2003, told me that he still get commission checks from clickbank and encashing or clearing it in the banks without any problems. So, I was interested again in clickbank, because if I get my clickbank affiliate account working again I can promote several digital products from popular internet marketers as well as add clickbank products in my niche sites.

I’ve added clickbank products on my niche sites and I started to see few commissions on my clickbank account. I setup my account settings to receive the minimum check of $10 but when payment date comes, I got a CDR label in my account. Upon checking what CDR here’s what I found out that it is a new policy that an affiliate needs to met in order to get a check:
